PAJAKI – ‘Spiders of Straw’ by Karolina MerskaBRIXI

PAJAKI literally translates as ‘Spiders of Straw’ in Polish. Artist Karolina Merska has reimagined and reinvented these traditional Polish folk art chandeliers, constructing a giant PAJAK set to hang high in the eaves of Brixton Village Market for the duration of this year’s festival.

Following the success of Brixton Street Gallery in 2015, Squire and Partners return with an interactive outdoor art installation featuring original work by Squire and Partners, local street artists and the public, transforming this corner of SW9.

Bocci’s immersive light installation 44 is the second site-specific commission for the Lightwell in the Barbican foyer. Designed by Omer Arbel, the light installation comprises of over 300 free-poured aluminium forms which are suspended from the ceiling by a matrix of thin cables.
